Frequently asked questions
We understand you might have questions and we’ve answered some of our most common below but please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to discuss your specific needs.
Can I book online?
You can email, SMS or call to make a booking and we will usually reply to you within a few hours. This way we can customise your stay and offer you the maximum saving on your booking.
Do you provide lunch and dinner?
We can suggest some lovely restaurants in Maitland and the Hunter Valley wineries area. In-house options including barbecue packs are also available on enquiry.
Is breakfast included?
Breakfast is an optional add-on as we know some people would prefer to enjoy some of the amazing restaurants and cafes for which the Hunter Valley is known. However, weddings guests and concertgoers may prefer to nurse sorry heads over our delicious breakfast on the Bella Wind patio. Breakfast is an additional $25 per person per night.
Do you accommodate special dietary needs for breakfast?
Our breakfasts are renowned and can be tailored to suit any needs and tastes. Just let us know when you book.
Can you organise transport?
We can arrange transport including a six-seater limousine, mini-bus and chauffeured hire cars on request, perfect for your Hunter Valley wedding or concert transportation. Rates are very reasonable and door to door option is a winner. Give us a call to discuss your needs.
Are you pet friendly?
While we love animals, for the safety of all we choose not to be a pet-friendly accommodation. We do however have plenty of local bird life and kangaroos who like to visit.
Is the accommodation suitable for people with disabilities?
Our guest accommodation is on the upper level of our home and not suitable for people with mobility issues or people who require use of a wheelchair.
Is Bella Wind child-friendly?
As grandparents ourselves, we love children and have child-friendly amenities including a highchair, toys, books, tableware, child-proof power point covers and Porta-cot. However, we also appreciate that some people would prefer a child-free or romantic getaway so when a family books in we generally wont book another guest at the same time.
Is there a minimum stay?
To enjoy the benefits of our competitive pricing, there is a two-night minimum stay on all weekends and public holiday long weekends. We will accommodate one-night stays at an increased rate. Please call us to discuss.
Where do we collect keys?
We live on site and have our own quarters on the ground floor at the opposite end of the house. We are mostly home to welcome you. In the event we are not home, we have a lock box at the front entrance where you can collect keys.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is 10am. Talk to us if you need to check-in or check-out outside these times.
Is there a bond?
We will take credit card details to secure your booking but will encourage you to pay via bank transfer or cash. Credit Card payments will incur a 2% fee.
What if we accidentally break something at the property?
Please come and tell me if there has been an incident. We will try and work things out. As per our booking policy apart from standard wear and tear you will be responsible for replacement or repair
What’s the story with all the recycling/junk on the property?
One half of the Bella Wind team, John, is an avid collector and recycler, turning second-hand goods into art or simply repurposing them to reduce our impact on the environment. He supplies and sells second-hand materials and antiques and knows the best picking spots in the Hunter Valley. If you love a little treasure hunting, or browsing antique stores, you will love exploring his special treasure trove.
Can you recommend some things to see and do during our stay?
We have lived at Bella Wind for 18 years and have an extensive knowledge of things to see and do around Maitland, Hunter Valley vineyards and the wider region, depending on your interests. Head to our What’s nearby [internal link] page for inspiration or talk to us.
